conf-speakerThe very first MICN conference was held in 2004 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Driven by the inspiration of Warren Reeve and Keith Webb, it brought together international church pastors from Asia and the Middle East and kicked off a discussion of what “missional” meant and what kind of “network” we had in mind. And just what was an “international church” anyway?

Eight years on, we are still defining, still networking, still learning from one another as we seek to lead and influence international congregations to fulfill their incredible potential for ministry impact around the world. The conference venue has changed every year: 2005 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand; 2007 in Bali, Indonesia; 2008 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia; 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; 2010 in Penang, Malaysia; 2011 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2012 in Hanoi, Vietnam, 2013 in Kuwait City, 2014 in Beijing, China, and 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Gathering international church leaders is like trying to stack marbles. But when we get together the dynamic is electric! We enjoy the conferences and meeting new people. Our conferences average about 40-50 attendees each time and guests that have come from about 15 different countries. There are planters of international churches and leaders of congregations from 100 to over 4,000 in attendance, and everything in between.

We look forward to meeting you in Hong Kong for our first-ever global IC conference!
